FertilityCare™ Center of Omaha
FertilityCare™ Center Services Welcome to the FertilityCare™ Center of Omaha. This center provides professional services to meet the individual needs of our clients. Some couples seek our services to learn the CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare™ System to achieve pregnancy while others want to learn the system to avoid pregnancy. Women often learn the system in order to chart their menstrual cycles for diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic disorders. After learning to chart according to the CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare™ System, the new women's reproductive health science, NaProTECHNOLOGY, can be applied to correct many health problems experienced by women.Learning the system consists of attending an Introductory Session and individualized follow-up sessions. Scheduled Introductory Sessions are held two or three times a month on Thursday evenings. To accommodate schedules, other sessions can be arranged on an individual basis. To schedule an appointment to attend an Introductory Session, contact the FertilityCare™ Center of Omaha at (402) 392-0842, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Individual follow-ups are scheduled based on time needs of clients. Teachers are available daytime hours, evening hours, and Saturdays. To adequately and confidently learn the system, the recommended follow-up schedule is five follow-ups during the first three months and three follow-ups over the next nine months.Fees for the program are as follows:

to Top I was raised in a small rural community, where I had many opportunities to enjoy and appreciate nature, good food, and neighbors who loved life. Their love of life and respect for each other became the foundation of who I am today. Little did I know how much I would share with my own children. The love of life coincides with what I continue to do, not only with friends, and co-workers, but also what my husband and I believe as a Catholic couple respecting and appreciating our life, fertility and grateful for our family and health care physician. When my husband and I were married, we chose to stay away from contraceptives. I wasn't comfortable using the birth control pill, which was the normal choice for family planning at the time. There were too many unknowns as what it would do to me, and now I know it can act as an abortifacient. I often wondered what else it would do to me. My parish priest was not taking a strong stance against contraception, but I felt it was wrong for us. By sheer coincidence my OB/GYN recommended we attend a Creighton Model natural family planning class. We wanted to use the system to plan and space our family--five children. One important benefit was the health information that I would be able to track. Creighton Model truly is a health related system. Only Creighton Model Fertility System provides this information, and trained Medical Consultants have the ability to interpret this chart. I feel lucky that I live close to a physician that provides this service. Twenty-six years ago, we just wanted to use this system to have children, and later space our family. Little did we know all the blessings we would receive. Not only were we able to use Creighton Model to achieve and avoid pregnancy, we grew as a couple spiritually, physically, intellectually, communicatively, and emotionally. We are more in love now, than the day we married. I don't know that I could say that if we had chosen the contraceptive route. Creighton Model fosters these areas. I must say that the spiritual level is probably what has increased the most. Now we are able to share another level of our gifts with our children, because they know that our marriage, family, and my health care is a direct result of the successful use of the Creighton Model System. My daughter who just recently married told her new husband stated, "I want to have a marriage like my mom and dad." They have the tools to do so, because they now use the Creighton Model System. This is the best choice we have ever made in our married life. ---------------------------------- I only wish more people were required to learn about their fertility the way Pope Paul VI Institute and the Creighton Model Fertility Care System teaches you about fertility. At 28 years old, what more can they tell me? I started taking the pill when I was in high school to deal with my heavy periods and cramping, I continued on it because I didn't want to get pregnant. I then moved on to being lazy enough to require putting in Norplant because I didn't want to have a pill every day. I experienced an almost constant bleeding which then required me to take a pill every day to stop the bleeding. This experience that finally caused me to say, "I don't want to put those drugs in my body any more!" A lucky realization and I was about to become even luckier. As part of our marriage preparation we were required to attend a session that discusses Natural Family Planning. My conversion to Catholicism, strong faith of my fiancée and my newfound health convictions required NFP too. Our Church had a local Fertility Care Practitioner and we attended our Introductory Session and witnessed all that we did NOT know. Sure, we heard conception was a miracle, but who knew that science backed that up. We both learned a lot and even today I think if I had known the Anatomy and Physiology perspective of my fertility at 14, would I have made different choices? CrMS taught me to appreciate my fertility, verses treating it and feeling as if it were a burden. To appreciate the ability to achieve a pregnancy instead of taking it for granted. If I only knew then, what I know now. ---------------------------------- When you tell people you are going to have multiples, you get all kinds of feedback, good and bad. One of the most pervasive is that they are going to be premature. When Dr. Hilgers finds out you are going to have twins he tells you that you are going to have them at 37 weeks. Armed with our packet of information we had several months with no issues and then at about 5 months I started having contractions. In a methodical and step by step process we started down the path to making it to 37 weeks. A few prescriptions, lots of needle pokes, a few months of some intravenous antibiotics and learning to listen to my body and rest when I needed to and we made it. I worked up until 2 weeks before the twins were born. I was never on weeks of bed rest and remained active thanks to the learning I received through my pregnancy literature on preventing pre-term birth from Dr. Hilgers office. When we toured the hospital a few days before the birth, the first place we were taken was to the NICU and told that most twins spend a few days to a few weeks in their care at an estimated cost of $2,000 per day per child. The nurse asked how far along I was and I said 37 weeks, she said we could skip that part. Indeed, we did and Baby A arrived at 5 lbs. 15 oz. and Baby B was 7 lbs. 10 oz. Implementing NaproTechnology into our prenatal care wasn't covered by insurance and the cost was less than what it would cost just for one child to spend one day in NICU. The cost was nothing when we think about the benefits our children received. You can't put a price on the difference carrying the twins full term made in their lives. This is just one of the ways that CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare System and NaProTECHNOLOGY has been a blessing to our family, my health and our marriage. ---------------------------------- If you have a success story that you would like to share, please email to fcco@popepaulvi.com.
